Your Posture Can Help Reduce Lower Back Pain
If you’ve been suffering from lower back pain, a few simple changes to your posture can help alleviate a lot of that pain. How are you sitting right now? Does your spine feel supported; are you sitting up straight? Are you standing correctly? If not, that posture may be contributing to your back pain. While many of us go throughout our daily activities without spending too much time concentrating on our posture, it’s important to pay attention to the way you are carrying your body.
You may think that slouching takes strain off of your muscles. After all, they’re not working to keep you sitting straight, right? Good posture actually helps the muscles relax so that they can repair themselves. When you slouch, it puts strain on your body and can weaken the muscles over time. While improving your posture is extremely important, it can be difficult. What is good posture?

How can I Get Good Posture?
So how can you start to stand properly? Make sure your shoulders are back, but don’t push them back so far that your chest sticks out. Make sure your chest continues to stay perpendicular to the ground. When standing up straight, you’ll notice that you’re using your stomach muscles to keep your body in the proper position. If you bend your knees at a slight angle, it will take the strain off of your hips and lower back.
In order to keep blood flowing throughout your body, make sure you don’t stay in the same position without moving for extended periods of time. Lower back pain can be reduced and healed by looking after your body, listening to it needs and seeking medical advice when you need to. The many types of lower back pain are usually due to an injury, incorrect movement or poor posture over the years.
